Extract Brewing is the simplest method and requires the least amount of specialized equipment. Extract brewing is basically using a malt extract, either dry powder or syrup, as your source fro fermentable level and follow a recipe. This usually entails steeping some specialty grains, boiling the malt extract for an hour, adding hops along the way for bitterness, flavor and aroma. This method produces high quality brews, has the advantage of a very simple process that doesn’t need any highly specialized equipment and doesn’t take very long to cook up.
